When Han & Fran walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage, they didn’t arrive with a dramatic backstory or an elaborate introduction.
They were simply two best friends from Llandudno in North Wales who spent their normal working days in an office.
Administrative work.
Photocopying.
The kind of routine that could hardly feel further away from television lights, celebrity judges and thousands of people watching.
But Han and Fran had something else they shared outside work:
A love of singing.
And especially a love of ABBA.
Singing Turned Them Into “Soul Sisters”
Han and Fran explained that music had played a huge role in bringing them closer together.
They described themselves as best friends and “soul sisters,” with singing forming the center of their friendship.
They also came to BGT with a very specific ambition.
They wanted to represent Wales — and hoped they could become the show’s first Welsh winners.
That was a big goal for two women whose normal day involved office administration.
Then Simon Cowell gave them the stage.
Then ABBA Started Playing
Instead of choosing one song, Han & Fran went all in.
They performed a lively ABBA medley, moving through familiar classics while dancing around the stage and leaning fully into the fun of the music.
Their audition included songs such as “Take a Chance on Me,” “Dancing Queen” and “Mamma Mia.”
And the performance quickly became much bigger than two people singing.
The audience began reacting.
People were clapping.
Some were dancing.
Han & Fran fed off the energy and became more animated as the medley continued.
What had begun as a talent-show audition started feeling more like a party.
Their Biggest Strength Was the Joy
There have been countless technically powerful singers on BGT.
Han & Fran stood out for a different reason.
They looked like they were having the time of their lives.
Their friendship was obvious.
They laughed.
They danced.
They played off each other.
And the audience appeared to understand exactly what kind of act they were trying to create.
The official BGT channel later described them as “bubbly office workers” whose personalities and stage presence made the audition memorable.

They Went Much Further Than the Audition
Han & Fran advanced from their first performance and eventually returned for the live semifinal with another ABBA-heavy production.
This time the staging was bigger and the pressure was much higher.
They finished second in their semifinal, behind dancer Binita Chetry.
For a moment, they believed their BGT journey was over.
Then came a surprise.
The pair were selected as the Wildcard act, bringing them back into the competition for the Grand Final.
For two best friends who originally applied without expecting to get anywhere near that far, becoming finalists was an extraordinary result.
From Office Desks to the BGT Final
Han & Fran themselves later said they had never imagined that applying for the show could lead all the way to becoming finalists.
Their Wildcard call caught them completely by surprise.
Then they returned to the stage for one more huge ABBA medley in the Final.
The transformation was remarkable.
Not long before, they had been doing ordinary office work in North Wales.
Now they were performing live as BGT finalists.
Sometimes an Audition Just Needs to Make People Happy
Han & Fran’s audition worked because it never felt like they were trying too hard to appear cool or serious.
They knew exactly what they loved.
ABBA.
Singing.
Dancing.
And performing together.
So that is exactly what they brought to the stage.
Two office best friends walked onto BGT hoping to represent Wales.
A few minutes later, the audience was dancing along with them.
And months later, those same two friends were standing in the Britain’s Got Talent Final.
